I have the pleasure of getting to work with some of the most amazing people. They are all so intelligent, creative, fun and nurturing people. Rachel is one of these people and I’m so lucky to get to work with her. The families just love her! She has a way of talking with families than just calms them and makes them feel reassurance that we are doing our best to take care of their tiny babies. Rachel is definitely one of the sweetest, nicest people I’ve ever met, so it makes sense that her husband Brent and her daughter Natalie are equally as nice! What I didn’t know before I met them for their family/maternity shoot was that they are also just as photogenic as they are sweet! I could not take a bad picture of them. I even tried!
We decided to meet at Beaver Brook Reservation. My brother in law recommended this park to me but I had never been before so I went to check it out the day before. When I got there, it was small and muddy and there was still ice on the pond (end of March) and just not picturesque at all. I couldn’t even really find a good stable, non muddy area for them to stand. I went home wondering if we should change locations for the shoot. Rachel had also checked it out that same day and had texted me saying it looked great and she’d see me there the next day. What?! Really?? Do I have overly-super-high expectations? I was perplexed! It turns out I had been checking out the wrong park! Or maybe the same park but a very different part of it. So I was sooo relieved the next morning when I arrived at the entrance Rachel had told me about and it turned out to be the most beautiful park! It mostly serves as a dog park but the most gorgeous dog park I’ve ever seen. It has a lot of nice paved paths through it and two different bridges that go over a cute, bubbling brook which is probably called Beaver Brook ;o) The rain that was forecasted for the day even held off and the sun was out for most of the session. I think Mother Nature was making sure this awesome family got the best out of their photo shoot!
Baby Copertino will soon be here and I am so excited to meet him or her! Natalie’s going to make the cutest big sister!
